Jane Cornwell is an Australian-born London-based journalist and the author of The Whirl: Men, Music & Misadventures (HarperCollins Australia). She is the jazz critic, and a world music critic, for the London Evening Standard and has written for such UK publications as the Guardian, the Telegraph, the Times, f Roots and Jazzwise. From the UK and Europe she writes on arts and culture for The Australian, Sunday Life, Good Weekend and Australian Financial Review magazine. She is a compere at festivals including Womad, a contributing editor of Songlines magazine, gives the occasional lecture on travel journalism and sometimes goes on the radio. Before all this she did a post-graduate degree in anthropology.
