Joanna is currently undertaking postgraduate study at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Louise Winter. She holds a Bachelor of Music Performance with First Class Honours and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia. At RNCM, Joanna has performed the role of Tytania, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Euridice, Orfeo ed Euridice, Adina, L’elisir d’amore and has performed Susanna, Le nozze di Figaro and Armida, Rinaldo, Gilda, Rigoletto and Norina, Don Pasquale in the opera scenes series. Joanna was winner of the Vocal Championship at the North Perth Music Festival, a finalist in the Fremantle Open Operatic Aria Competition and a Semi-Finalist in the Australian Singing Competition. Joanna also recently performed with Buxton Festival Opera in July 2014, covering the role of Euridice in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice. Upcoming performances include Camille, Louise and Lucia (cover), Lucia di Lammermoor, Buxton Festival Opera, as well as the Cockerel, the Jay and Mrs Paskova in BYO’s production of The Cunning Little Vixen. Her studies at the RNCM are generously supported by the Lady Maria Fisher Opera Scholarship, Independent Opera and the Tait Memorial Trust.
