Nicknamed by Eddie Campbell ‘The Man At The Crossroads’, Paul Gravett is co-director of Comica, the London International Comics Festival since 2003, co-publisher of Escape Books, and author of numerous books about international comics, including Manga: Sixty Years of Japanese Comics, Graphic Novels: Stories To Change Your Life and Comics Art. He edited the global guide 1001 Comics You Must Read Before You Die, and co-curated the British Library exhibition Comics Unmasked: Art and Anarchy in the UK. He writes for The Independent, The Guardian, The Times Literary Supplement and ArtReview, among others.
