Stephen Morgan is an AHRC-funded PhD candidate in the Film Studies department at King’s College London. Affiliated with the Menzies Centre for Australian Studies, he is currently researching a series of films produced in Australia by Ealing Studios in the 1940s and ’50s.

Born in Australia to British parents, he’s long been fascinated by the cultural ties that bind the two countries, a fascination that feeds directly into his interest in Australia’s transnational film history, and the circulation and reception of Australian films in Britain. Those interests lead him to establish TheFarParadise.com, a website dedicated to the promotion of Australian cinema in the UK. When not researching and writing about film, Stephen spends most of his time with his partner (also a first generation Aussie) and their two London-born daughters, who they hope to raise with similarly conflicting feelings about their dual Anglo-Australian heritage.
